The GoK notified the Karnataka Maritime Board Bill-2015 in official Gazette on 19.03.2018.
The draft rules on (i) Karnataka Maritime Board (Conduct of Meeting of the Board and its Committees) Regulations, 2019 (ii) Karnataka Maritime Board Rules, 2019 has been already notified in official gazette and (iii) Karnataka Maritime Board (Provident Fund, Gratuity Etc) Regulations rules, 2019 and (iv) Karnataka Maritime Board (Recruitment, Remunerations, Promotion, Suspension, Removal Etc) Regulations, 2019 prepared by I Deck, Bangalore has been submitted to the Government for approval.
GoK in their order No. DPAR 114 SAS 2019 dated 9.05.2019 appointed Sri Ujwal Kumar Ghosh, IAS as the CEO of Karnataka Maritime Board. He has taken over charge of CEO on 10.06.2019.
The Government in their order No. LO E 111 PSP 2017 (BHA-5) dated 6.03.2019 has also accorded approval for the appointment of approved Class I Valuator as per section 20 of Karnataka Maritime Bill 2015 for the identification, valuation of the property held by the Port Department in order to transfer the same in the same of Karnataka Maritime Board. Action is being taken to float the tenders to fix the agency.
GoK has been requested to constitute the full fledged Maritime Board with the nomination of Chairman and other members of the Board.
Gok has been requested to appoint Chief Account officer to the Karnataka Maritime Board as per the provision made in section 17 of Karnataka Maritime Board Act. It is also requested the GoK to accord necessary approval to obtain under section 19 with regard to the absorption of the employees to Maritime Board.
