Honnavar Port

        This  is  located  on  the  right  bank  of  the  Sharavathi   river  and at  present is
 functioning as a fair weather lighterage  port. The  main bottleneck in the development
 of the port is the sand bar at  the  entrance of the river.  This port has a good highway
 connection  to the  hinterland  as well as the  Konkan  Railway  connection.

• Location : Latitude 14⁰  16.30’N and longitude 74⁰  27.10 E

• Sourrended by hills, forests and Sharavathi river

• Konkan Railway line and N.H.17 passing very close to the port.

• Environmental position is quite good

    Existing facilities:

• First stage Lighterage wharf of 400’ long with a stacking area of  69,000 sq.ft.

• Second stage lighterage wharf 564’ long with about 3,00,000 Sq.ft of stacking area.
